Our journey

It all started in a basement...
The three friends Petter, Robin and Natalie were curious about the potential that vertical farming could have in a cold country like Sweden. Driven by their curiosity, they started experimenting with LED lights and voilá - Greenery was born! Since 2014, we have continued to develop, build and test technology for vertical farming.

...with the goal of making cities self-sufficient...
Four years later, in 2018, we took a step closer to our vision of self-sufficient cities by opening one of Europe's largest vertical farms on the outskirts of Stockholm.

...on a large and small scale!
In 2017, we released our first GrowOff, an indoor growing module where you can grow 300 plants per month on a single square meter. Cool, right? One step closer to self-sufficiency!

Today we lead the development!
Today we only work with our automatic grow cabinets ONE and GrowOff 3 towards businesses, restaurants, schools and homes.
Our Team
What started as a basement experiment with lights and plants has grown into a major Nordic farming company. Over the years, we built large vertical farms and created tools like the GrowOff to help people grow more efficiently.

FAQ Hydroponic Cultivation
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without traditional soil. Instead, the plants grow in water enriched with nutrients, under controlled light and climate conditions.
Greenery uses coconut fibers instead of soil for optimal taste, durability and longevity.
Vertical farming involves growing plants in stacked layers, making it possible to produce large yields in a very small area. This allows crops to be grown indoors year-round, even in colder climates.
Grönska's grow cabinet combines hydroponics and vertical farming for maximum efficiency.
You can grow a wide variety of over 50 herbs, leafy greens and edible flowers.
Basil, coriander, lettuce and crisp lettuce are among the most popular. In our new ONE cabinet you can grow tall plants and flowers.
We are continuously expanding our range with new crops that can be grown in our cabinets.

Most herbs and leafy greens are ready to harvest within 30–50 days, depending on the variety. Basil and coriander can be harvested after about 30 days.
No, we use a pure growing substrate made of coconut fibers – a waste product that is safe to use in kitchen environments.
Yes. Hydroponically grown food is completely safe. Because no soil or pesticides are used, it is often cleaner and fresher than traditionally grown food.
No. The system is fully automated and controlled via a smartphone app. The cabinet regulates water, light and nutrition for you. You simply insert the capsules with pre-sown seeds and harvest when they are ready.
Hydroponic vertical farming uses up to 90% less water, no pesticides and greatly reduces transportation by growing the food on site.
The result is fresher taste, less food waste and a more sustainable footprint – while engaging people through visible, local food production.
Our cabinets are designed for most indoor environments where the temperature is not too low and where they are not exposed to direct sunlight. All cabinets require electricity and some models also require a water connection. The cabinets are controlled via WiFi or 4G connection.
Grönska's vertical hydroponic grow cabinets are designed with a focus on simplicity, efficiency and design. They don't just grow fresh herbs and salads – they fit into any environment, from restaurants to schools and offices.
Our systems use real-time data to continuously optimize cultivation by adjusting light, water and nutrition for the best possible yield, taste and energy efficiency.
With Grönska you get a solution that combines advanced technology, sustainability and Scandinavian design in a fully automated grow cabinet.
